At the Toronto International Film Festival, Chris Rock revealed that renowned filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson offered valuable feedback on his latest project, 'Misty Green.' During the film’s premiere, Rock noted that Anderson viewed the film both as a friend and as a critical advisor, highlighting the importance of constructive criticism in the creative process.

Rock explained, “It’s like, what do I have you — what’s the use of having a friend like you who can’t help me?” He acknowledged that Anderson’s input included some subtle adjustments, saying there were “a tweak here or there,” though he opted not to disclose specific changes made to the film.

'Misty Green,' distributed by A24, tells the story of a once-prominent actress, played by Rosalind Eleazar, who grapples with her fading career. The narrative unfolds as she seeks to reclaim her former glory by reconnecting with her old talent agent, portrayed by Topher Grace. The film also features a talented cast, including Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, and Rock himself in a minor role. Rock’s inspiration for the script came from a chance encounter with a former A-list actress participating in a loop group, which sparked his curiosity about the struggles behind her current situation.

As he recounted the origins of his film, Rock expressed how witnessing the actress in such a setting led him to ponder the complexities of fame and career decline. 'Misty Green' is set to hit theaters on October 9.
