American Diabetes Association Continues Review of Expulsions from June Meeting

By Editor • September 6, 2026 • 1 min read

In a surprising turn of events, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) has announced that its internal review regarding the expulsion of five members from its June meeting is ongoing. What initially seemed to be a concluded investigation has revealed more layers, as the audit and governance committee (AGC) continues to delve deeper into the matter.

On September 1, the ADA released preliminary findings related to the expulsions that occurred during the conference in New Orleans. However, a recent statement from the AGC indicated that these initial conclusions did not encompass the entirety of the investigation or the interviews conducted subsequently. The AGC emphasized that additional findings are forthcoming.

According to the AGC, there is potential for the new information to either clarify or amend the previous findings, which may also lead to further actions by the ADA Board. As the situation unfolds, members and stakeholders await more detailed insights into this complex issue.
