In a bold move to redefine modern fashion, Banana Republic has launched a striking 36-piece collection in collaboration with La Ligne, a New York-based womenswear brand. This partnership, which officially debuted on Wednesday, draws inspiration from Banana Republic's extensive archives, merging timeless designs with contemporary style.
Bridging Heritage with Modernity
Meena Avary, the Chief Marketing Officer of Banana Republic, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "La Ligne felt like a natural partner for us because there is such a strong alignment in how we both think about a modern wardrobe." The collection aims to capture a shared vision of quality and versatility, showcasing pieces that are both classic and stylish.
A Rich Tapestry of Design
Founded in 2016 by former Vogue editors Meredith Melling and Valerie Macaulay, along with Molly Howard, La Ligne has always focused on creating enduring fashion rather than fleeting trends. The designers tapped into Banana Republic’s archives to reinterpret iconic styles with modern proportions and their signature stripe aesthetics. Valerie Macaulay noted, "[The archives] was such a rich place to work from [with] decades of design history to explore."
Star Power in the Campaign
The campaign features actress Zoey Deutch, who embodies the collection's essence with her distinctive style. Avary highlighted the goal of creating an intimate and playful campaign, stating, "Zoey has an innate sense of style that feels both timeless and modern." With a variety of pieces ranging from $20 to $1,500, the collection includes standout outerwear, such as a nubuck barn jacket and a belted suede wrap coat, which have generated considerable excitement among fashion enthusiasts.
