During their heyday, NSYNC was not just known for their chart-topping hits but also for their rather unique culinary choices on tour. Former members Lance Bass and Joey Fatone recently shared insights into their eating habits during a lively chat on the podcast SNACKS!
Junk Food Galore
Reflecting on their time on the road, Fatone humorously remarked, "So much junk food it’s not even funny," while recalling the band's tour rider. Among the items frequently requested were trays of grilled cheese and mac and cheese, and curiously, boxes of Shredded Wheat.
Late Night Indulgences
For Bass and Fatone, the rigors of touring left little room for regular meal breaks. Bass recounted, "We didn’t even have time to eat. The only time we had to eat was like, snacks in the dressing room. Or it was on the bus after a show." After their nightly performances, a familiar feast awaited them: the “Tour of Italy” from Olive Garden, featuring an indulgent mix of chicken Parmigiana, lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo, and of course, those beloved breadsticks served with Alfredo sauce.
Personal Preferences
While Olive Garden became a staple for the duo, Bass also had his own pre-show ritual. He confessed to craving a peanut butter and banana sandwich just before hitting the stage, but with a twist: the banana must be smashed and mixed with the peanut butter for an enhanced flavor, ideally served toasted with a drizzle of honey. Fatone, on the other hand, expressed his enduring fondness for the Italian chain, stating, "It’s a different experience, as I like to call it," highlighting his appreciation for the comfort food that defined their touring experience.
