Bvlgari Unveils Stunning Serpent Sculpture on NYC's High Line

Bvlgari has made a striking statement in New York City with its latest art installation, auruBOROS – Urban Memory and Collective Dream, which opened on September 10. This marks the luxury brand's inaugural public art piece in the United States, part of the ongoing Serpenti Infinito project.

The installation, crafted by Berlin-based artists Marco Canevacci and Yena Young of Plastique Fantastique, features gigantic golden coils that appear to rise from beneath The Standard hotel, threading through the iconic High Line. This visually captivating work blurs the lines between sculpture and architecture, creating a brilliant spectacle against Manhattan's familiar skyline.

“auruBOROS started with the ancient concept of the ouroboros, but instead of a closed loop, we allowed the serpent to flow into the city,” explained Canevacci and Young. The sculpture's reflective surface captures the essence of its surroundings, merging with the urban landscape, the weather, and the people who interact with it.

Despite its grand size, auruBOROS is a temporary installation, set to remain on the High Line for just 11 days, from September 10 to September 20. “Although it seems monumental, the structure is light and ephemeral,” the artists noted, emphasizing the contrast between its appearance and its actual nature.

In conjunction with the installation, Bvlgari is also showcasing three exquisite Serpenti Tubogas high-jewelry pieces and a special minaudière inspired by the artistic legacy of New York City, available at select boutiques this month.
