Celebrating 30 Years: Wallpaper* Unveils a Star-Studded Anniversary Issue

This month marks a significant milestone for Wallpaper*, as it releases its 330th issue, coinciding with the magazine's 30th anniversary. Rather than reflect on the past, the October 2026 issue boldly embraces the present and future, featuring contributions from three illustrious guest editors.

Es Devlin, a renowned designer celebrated for her innovative installations, makes her mark with a striking cover showcasing her ‘30-Year Desk’. This piece is part of her upcoming exhibition ‘Other Worlds’ at the Design Museum in London, highlighting her prolific 30-year career. Devlin, who describes herself as an ‘everythingist’, utilizes the magazine as a canvas to illustrate the depth of her artistic vision.

Palace Skateboards, the iconic streetwear brand founded in 2009, also takes center stage in this special issue. Collaborating with artist Ben Drury, Palace presents a cover featuring its signature Tri-Ferg logo, designed by Fergus ‘Fergadelic’ Purcell. The brand’s editorial contribution focuses on its vibrant community, showcasing influential figures from the realms of skating, fashion, and art who embody the Palace ethos.

Completing the trio of guest editors is Carrie Mae Weems, an acclaimed American artist whose work delves into themes of identity, memory, and social commentary. Her cover features a striking sculpture from the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, symbolizing her exploration of monuments and their significance in society. Weems' portfolio also foreshadows her upcoming project, ‘250 and Change’, which reflects on the US semiquincentennial through an artistic lens.

In addition to the guest editor features, Wallpaper* takes readers on a tour of the Zaha Hadid Foundation's new home and explores a unique Japanese tea atelier in Berlin.
