Fashion designer Christian Siriano unveiled a striking collection inspired by 18th-century aesthetics during his Spring 2027 show held at the Cunard building in New York. The event resonated with the upcoming 20th anniversary of Sofia Coppola’s film, "Marie Antoinette," as well as the opulence of Versailles.

Siriano expressed his admiration for Coppola's film, stating, "Oh my god, I love that movie. I watched it too much, actually. The clothes are insane. It didn’t even make sense. It’s so great." While his collection was primarily influenced by the fairy tale "The Story of the Queen of the Flowery Isles," the parallels with Coppola's work were unmistakable. Both narratives explore vanity and tragedy, though Siriano put a fresh spin on his designs.

The collection began with edgy, all-black ensembles crafted from laser-cut leather, transitioning into vibrant pieces featuring drop-waist circle skirts made from vintage tapestry fabrics. Notably, Siriano incorporated elements of Christian Lacroix’s iconic costume jewelry, blending authentic vintage finds from Parisian flea markets with modern touches.
