Concerns regarding the quality of concrete utilized in the construction of three public housing blocks in Tung Chung have surfaced, prompting the Hong Kong Housing Authority to initiate further testing.
The authority disclosed that the main contractor for the project, Able Engineering, will be subjected to scrutiny following the discovery of potential deficiencies. This company is already under fire for its involvement in a separate controversy concerning faulty lift installations at Queen Mary Hospital.
On Saturday, the Housing Authority confirmed that routine inspections revealed issues that necessitate a comprehensive review of the concrete used in these blocks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining construction standards to ensure the safety and quality of public housing.
