In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Malaysian authorities have apprehended six men tied to a case involving a Malaysia Airlines pilot caught with Ecstasy pills in Jakarta. The pilot, aged 39, was detained at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, prompting an investigation that led to the arrests.
The arrests occurred after a team from the Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) traveled to Jakarta between August 11 and 15 to interrogate the pilot. Their inquiries revealed crucial information linking the six suspects to the supply of illicit drugs.
Commissioner Hussein Omar Khan, the director of the Bukit Aman NCID, stated that these individuals are believed to have played a role in the drug supply chain, further complicating the ongoing investigation into the smuggling operation.
