By Editor • September 1, 2026 • 1 min read

A Las Vegas jury has reached a verdict, finding 63-year-old Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty of orchestrating the 1996 murder of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur. The jury deliberated for under three hours before announcing the decision.

The case dates back to May 1996 when Davis' nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, was involved in an altercation with a Death Row Records associate. Following a boxing match on September 7, Shakur retaliated against Anderson, leading to Davis seeking revenge. That fateful evening, Shakur was shot while in a car with Suge Knight, succumbing to his injuries days later.

Davis, who has acknowledged being present during the incident, is scheduled for sentencing on October 13, facing a potential life sentence.
