In a surprising turn of events, the Eiffel Tower was closed on Monday as workers protested against the exclusion of female employees during a recent visit by a Hindu delegation. The strike was sparked by claims that female staff were sidelined at the request of the visiting group, leading to widespread outrage among the workers.

In a statement, the union condemned the directives that resulted in female employees being “sidelined, replaced and rendered invisible” solely based on their gender.
