With twelve firefighting crews engaged and aerial support requested, officials are advising residents to prepare for potential evacuation as conditions may deteriorate swiftly.

Road closures have been implemented in surrounding suburbs, including Glen Eden and Burura, with authorities urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel. Local resident Jean Williams described witnessing the escalating smoke, highlighting concerns among neighbors about their water supply and readiness to combat the fire.
