George Lucas Unveils His Dream: The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Opens Soon

George Lucas, the mastermind behind "Star Wars," showcased the long-awaited Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, revealing that the endeavor nearly tested his resolve. "I’m fascinated by doing things that people say can’t be done," he shared during a media preview.

For 17 years, Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, have tirelessly worked on this ambitious project, which spans an impressive 300,000 square feet. The museum, designed by Ma Yansong of MAD, is located adjacent to the L.A. Memorial Coliseum and will feature over 30 galleries filled with a diverse collection of narrative art, including pieces by renowned artists such as Norman Rockwell, Frida Kahlo, and Diego Rivera.

Lucas explained the significance of narrative art, emphasizing its role in blending culture and storytelling. He stated, "A picture is very powerful, and the stories are very powerful, and you combine them together, and those two elements create a society." The museum is set to open its doors to the public on September 22, promising visitors an immersive experience that celebrates the power of visual storytelling.
