Hedley Studios Unveils Electric Porsche 550 J: A Compact Classic Revived

Hedley Studios has introduced the Porsche 550 J, a pint-sized electric homage to the iconic classic sports car, following three years of meticulous development. Known for creating scaled-down versions of legendary vehicles, the company has successfully partnered with Porsche to deliver a thrilling driving experience in a compact form.

Performance and Design

The Porsche 550 J boasts an 8kW (11bhp) 48V electric motor, allowing it to reach a top speed of 40mph, with a range of 30 miles on a single charge. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, an RS pack is available, doubling the motor's power to achieve speeds of up to 50mph while extending the range to 50 miles. Enhancements like drilled brakes and adjustable dampers further enhance its track capabilities.

A Nod to Tradition with a Modern Twist

Ben Hedley, CEO of Hedley Studios, expressed his enthusiasm for the 550's design, stating that it is a beautiful and elegant shape that stands out among other Porsche models. The car has been scaled down to 80% of its original size, allowing space for two adults to sit comfortably side by side. While staying true to the original model, the 550 J incorporates modern features, including custom switchgear reminiscent of the Porsche Taycan.

Track-Ready Features

Designed to deliver an engaging driving experience, the 550 J features classic trailing arm suspension, which has been refined with modern components such as Bilstein coilover dampers and Brembo brakes. Hedley himself took the vehicle on the track, describing it as “brilliant” and highlighting its playful handling characteristics. With only 250 units to be produced, starting at £69,500, the 550 J aims to captivate both collectors and driving enthusiasts when deliveries commence in Spring 2027.
