Inditex Reports Strong Q2 Sales Growth Amid Market Challenges

By Editor • September 9, 2026 • 1 min read

Inditex, the parent company of Zara, has announced a significant increase in revenues for the second quarter of the year, despite facing challenging economic conditions. Sales rose by 9.1 percent, totaling €11 billion for the period ending July 30, marking an uptick from the 5.8 percent growth seen in the previous quarter.

Chief Executive Óscar García Maceiras emphasized the impressive performance of the company’s teams in delivering a sought-after fashion experience globally. He stated, “In a highly complex global environment, they have succeeded in delivering every day to our customers all around the world the products and fashion experience that they demand.”

Analysts are optimistic about Inditex's trajectory. RBC Capital Markets' Richard Chamberlain described the results as “very reassuring,” commending the company's effective integration of its store and online operations. With the summer heat complicating seasonal transitions, sales remained robust at the beginning of the third quarter, maintaining a 9 percent rise in constant currencies from August 1 to September 7.

Looking ahead, Inditex plans to invest approximately €2.3 billion in capital expenditures this year, focusing on capacity and efficiency improvements, as well as enhancing differentiation from competitors. The company is also committed to expanding its physical store presence, with a target of increasing its gross space by 5 percent by 2026.
