A recent leak from China has shed light on the anticipated Apple A20 Pro chip, expected to power the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Ultra. Through meticulous reverse-engineering of solder diagrams, the leaker has unveiled crucial aspects of this new chip's architecture.
CPU and GPU Enhancements
The A20 Pro is set to maintain a familiar 2+4 CPU configuration while introducing a more powerful 7-core GPU. This represents a significant upgrade, enhancing graphics performance for future Apple devices.
Improvements in Cache Memory
One notable change in the chip involves its power-efficiency CPU cores, which are expected to feature an increased L2 cache of 8MB, compared to the 6MB found in the current A19 Pro. Meanwhile, the larger performance cores will see no changes in their configuration, indicating a focus on refining existing strengths rather than overhauling the system entirely.
