Investigation Launched into Allegations of Chinese Embassy Guards Using Illegal Weapons Against Protesters

In a troubling development, the Metropolitan Police have initiated an investigation into claims that security personnel at the Chinese embassy in London brandished illegal electroshock batons during protests. The alleged incidents, reported over the past few months, involved guards at both the current location on Portland Place and the proposed new site near the Tower of London.

Video evidence has surfaced showing security staff wielding these weapons, prompting calls for government action. Officials from Downing Street have communicated with the embassy, emphasizing that all foreign diplomats must adhere to UK laws.

The Chinese embassy has vehemently denied the allegations, attributing them to “fabrication and defamation” by groups seeking Tibetan independence, who allegedly attempted to breach the embassy's premises.
