Jane Wade's Spring 2027 Collection Celebrates Nature's Aquatic Wonders

By Editor • September 12, 2026 • 1 min read

Jane Wade continues to immerse her design vision in the great outdoors with her Spring 2027 collection, aptly named "The Riverbed." Following the success of her Fall 2026 line, which embraced a rugged, adventure-inspired aesthetic, Wade's latest offering delves deeper into aquatic themes, celebrating the joys of nature.

From Mountains to Rivers

Wade's Spring collection, which was showcased under the sun at Pier 64, reflects a transition from the earlier mountain escapade to a serene riverside experience. "Last season, we were hiking the Great Mount expedition to ‘The Summit,’ and this season, that glacial melt is trickling off, running down through waterfall and into the creek for ‘The Riverbed,’" she shared in a pre-show interview at her studio in Brooklyn.

A Fusion of Function and Style

The designer's vision for Spring 2027 combines functionality with playful designs, incorporating everyday office fabrics alongside sporty materials like nylon and ripstop. Models graced the runway in an array of outdoor-inspired garments, from cargo pants and funnel-neck jackets to eye-catching gingham prints. Some even went barefoot, further emphasizing the collection's casual, nature-loving spirit.

Innovative Textures and Designs

A standout piece from the collection is a striking strapless dress that mimics alligator skin, showcasing Wade's innovative craftsmanship. The dress, created through an intricate embossing technique on cowhide, features a three-step screen printing process to achieve its unique aquatic sheen. Wade expressed her excitement about this creative evolution, stating, "I think this season, especially spring, is a really fun time to leave the office… Touching grass is a big theme of what we’re talking about." The collection balances outdoor adventure with Wade's workwear roots, ensuring a versatile wardrobe for the modern woman.
