Jeff Tweedy Pays Homage to Twisted Teens with New Cover

By Editor • September 13, 2026 • 1 min read

Jeff Tweedy, the renowned frontman of Wilco, has embraced his admiration for the New Orleans duo Twisted Teens by covering their song “Wild Connection.” This rendition was unveiled on September 11 and is available for streaming on his Substack page.

In a reflective essay accompanying the cover, Tweedy expressed his admiration for lead vocalist Caspian Hollywell, sharing that he found it difficult not to emulate Hollywell’s unique vocal style. “One of the reasons I do so many cover songs is that I think it’s good to hear something you like and then see what it feels like to try it on, almost like clothes,” he noted. He further remarked on how his rendition still retained his distinct sound, suggesting it reflects a youthful version of himself.

Tweedy's foray into covers is not new; earlier this year, he gifted fans a version of Cameron Winter’s “Love Takes Miles” on Valentine’s Day. He has also been busy with various projects, including completing a headlining tour for his album Twilight Override and making appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Meanwhile, Twisted Teens are preparing to launch their third album, The Holy Cross Tigers, set to release on November 6. This new album follows their July release, Florida Water Blues, and will be the first under their new label, Sub Pop.
