Actor Josh Heuston is set to step into the spotlight as the lead in Amazon MGM’s upcoming film 'Throttled,' based on Lauren Asher’s popular book from the 'Dirty Air' series. This adaptation promises to deliver a thrilling mix of romance and high-speed racing, set against the backdrop of competitive motorsport.

'Throttled,' which marks the first installment of Asher’s 'Dirty Air' series published in 2020, tells the story of a young woman who joins her brother on the racing circuit and finds herself entangled in a passionate, yet forbidden romance with her brother’s fierce rival and teammate. Heuston, known for his role in 'Off Campus,' will portray the romantic lead in this high-stakes drama.

Behind the Scenes Talent

The screenplay for 'Throttled' is being adapted by Melissa Osborne, who has previously worked on titles like 'My Fault: London.' Nzingha Stewart, celebrated for her work on 'Daisy Jones & The Six,' is attached to direct the project. The film is being produced by Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions alongside Ethea Entertainment’s Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay, with Garrett Grant also on board as a producer. Lauren Asher will serve as an executive producer, ensuring her vision is faithfully translated to the screen.

A Global Reach

Amazon MGM Studios has secured worldwide distribution rights, which means 'Throttled' will be available to audiences in over 240 countries and territories via Prime Video. Asher expressed her excitement about the adaptation, stating, “When I published Throttled, I didn’t imagine that my first book would be adapted for the screen, so it still feels like a dream.” She credited her readers and the dedicated team behind the film for making this dream come true.
