The London Design Festival has officially commenced its 24th edition, showcasing the vibrant and diverse design community that London boasts. This year’s festival spotlights a mix of emerging talents and established designers, with special attention on the annual London Design Medals awarded to four outstanding individuals in the field.

Highlights from the Festival

Among the exciting happenings, Tom Dixon's Coal Office has become a must-visit. As always, Dixon welcomes visitors with a warm coffee and a showcase of his latest creations. This year, he unveils a multifunctional cast iron collection that includes innovative items such as a shoe-shaped doorstop that doubles as a vase and a hand-shaped phone stand that playfully suggests a gesture. Additionally, new lighting designs and a collaboration with Vispring add a bold touch to the bedroom scene.

Exhibitions to Watch

Meanwhile, Isabel + Helen are marking a decade of creativity with their exhibition, Motion Sickness, at The Conran Shop. This showcase reflects their playful experimentation with materials and movement, featuring older prototypes alongside limited edition prints and lamps. Their work illustrates a unique approach to design, emphasizing the journey from concept to execution.

In another highlight, Kieffer launches a new collection titled '4', in collaboration with Formafantasma, focusing on textures and patterns that develop from the fabric itself. This exploration of design emphasizes interaction with space and light, showcasing a thoughtfully curated color palette. Lastly, Dedar introduces its latest collections, including a full-length installation titled Vesi Liberi, highlighting a variety of materials and textures.
