As the second season of the popular series Heated Rivalry ramps up, the show has announced several exciting cast additions. Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross, and Milla Jovovich are set to play pivotal roles in the upcoming season.

Zegers will portray Coach Weibe, the head coach for Ottawa’s professional hockey team, where Ilya Rozanov, played by Connor Storrie, will take the ice. Jovovich is on board as Dr. Galina Molchalin, a therapist assisting Ilya, while Gross steps in as the league’s commissioner, Roger Crowell.

Season two draws its narrative from Rachel Reid’s novel The Long Game, which explores the evolving relationship between Ilya and Shane Holland, played by Hudson Williams. The storyline sees the hockey stars navigating their romance amid the pressures of public life, having transitioned from rivals to partners.

Jacob Tierney, the creator of the series, revealed that the upcoming season will also draw from the novel Role Model, featuring Ilya’s teammate Troy Barrett and the social media manager Harris Drover. Furthermore, hints suggest elements from the third novel, Tough Guy, may also find their way into the plot.

Williams and Storrie will reprise their leading roles, joined by returning cast members like Justice Smith and Charlie Gillespie. The series has garnered acclaim since its November 2025 debut, with a second season greenlit shortly thereafter. Filming is currently underway, targeting a spring 2027 release.
