Nscale Welcomes Fidji Simo to Board as IPO Approaches

Nscale, a rapidly growing AI data center startup based in the UK, has announced the addition of Fidji Simo, a former executive from OpenAI, Meta, and Instacart, to its board of directors. This strategic move comes as the company gears up for a potentially lucrative IPO slated for this fall.

Simo, who previously held the position of CEO for AGI deployment at OpenAI, left the company in July for health reasons but continues to provide advisory support. Her impressive resume also includes leading Instacart through its IPO earlier this year and over a decade at Meta, where she was instrumental as the head of the Facebook app. Additionally, Simo serves on the board of Shopify, further highlighting her extensive experience in tech leadership.

Josh Payne, the founder and CEO of Nscale, expressed his enthusiasm for Simo's appointment, emphasizing her unique insight into scaling products for vast user bases. He remarked, “Fidji joins a board we’ve built deliberately, with the experience of scaling platforms to the largest in the world.” Nscale, which specializes in designing and operating AI data centers, is reportedly seeking to secure $3.5 billion ahead of its public offering, reflecting its soaring valuation since its inception just two years ago.
