Pakistan Initiates Dual-Tranche Eurobond Offering Amid Improved Ratings

By Editor • September 2, 2026 • 1 min read

Pakistan has embarked on a dual-tranche Eurobond offering, denominated in US dollars, featuring both five-year and 10-year tenors. This move signifies the country's attempt to re-establish itself in international capital markets following positive sovereign rating upgrades.

Khurram Schehzad, the Adviser to the Finance Minister, announced the offering via a post on X, emphasizing that the transaction's size and pricing will hinge on market conditions and investor interest. This step is viewed as a continuation of Pakistan's increasing engagement with global investors.

Less than five months ago, Pakistan successfully returned to the bond market after a four-year hiatus, raising $500 million through a three-year Eurobond. The latest offering represents an extension of the maturity profile beyond that initial tenor, testing investor confidence in holding Pakistani sovereign debt for extended periods.
