Panda Express Revives Cantonese BBQ Brisket Amid Calls for Beyond Orange Chicken

By Editor • September 1, 2026 • 1 min read

Panda Express has reintroduced its much-loved Cantonese BBQ brisket, available for a limited time after its summer stint ended on August 10. Described on their website as "slow-cooked, smoky satisfaction," fans can enjoy it in various styles, including bowls and plates. However, the brisket's return has sparked mixed reactions among loyal customers.

While many social media users are celebrating with emojis and cheers, others are expressing disappointment, yearning for the return of the Beyond Orange Chicken — a vegan favorite that has developed a dedicated following. A current petition on Change.org advocating for its permanent reinstatement has amassed over 3,500 signatures, highlighting the demand for more plant-based options at the fast-food chain.

This is not the first time customers have rallied for Beyond Orange Chicken; a previous petition in 2024 garnered over 7,000 signatures, prompting Panda Express to bring it back temporarily before ultimately removing it again. Initially launched in 2021 as a collaboration with Beyond Meat, the dish was a plant-based twist on the chain's iconic Orange Chicken, which remains its top-selling item. Despite its popularity, Panda Express maintains that Beyond Orange Chicken was designed as a limited-time offering, leaving many fans hopeful yet frustrated.
