PITAKA Transforms Berlin Bunker into a Wheat Field for New Product Launch

In a remarkable blend of design and material innovation, PITAKA has unveiled its latest aramid case collection, Wind Over Wheat, at a converted WWII bunker in Berlin. The event, entitled Signals in the Wind, showcased the tactile qualities of aramid fiber, a material known for its incredible strength and lightweight properties.
Located at The Feuerle Collection, the event featured a stunning gold tapestry that mimicked the appearance of a wheat field caught in a gust of wind. This intricate work of art, crafted from aerospace-grade aramid fiber, embodies the essence of the new collection. PITAKA dedicated over 10,000 hours to perfecting this blend of toughness and softness, creating a sensory experience that challenges conventional perceptions of materials.
An Unconventional Venue
The choice of venue was as compelling as the collection itself. The bunker, with its two-meter-thick walls, provided a stark yet fitting backdrop for the display. Inside, minimalistic design allowed the tapestry and product displays to take center stage. The atmosphere was enhanced by a soundscape composed by Berlin artist Temple Rat, featuring field recordings of wind rustling through wheat, connecting the auditory experience with the visual.
Distinctive Case Finishes
Wind Over Wheat is available in three unique finishes, each reflecting different moments in the life of a wheat field. The options include Golden Drift, representing sunlit wheat; Surging Awn, symbolizing younger wheat; and Berlin Nocturne, inspired by the fading light of dusk. Each case is crafted using PITAKA's innovative Trace Form technique, which allows for organic variations in texture, ensuring that no two pieces are identical.
In a fitting conclusion to the night, guests moved to the terrace, where they were greeted with real wheat-like grasses swaying in the breeze. This unexpected detail perfectly encapsulated the event's theme, providing a tangible connection between the venue and the product. The limited Trace Form Edition of Wind Over Wheat will be available for pre-order starting September 9, with a full launch on September 17. Attendees of IFA Berlin are encouraged to visit PITAKA's main booth in Hall 5.2, Booth 209.
