MILAN — In a bold move to redefine its future, Italian furniture manufacturer Poltrona Frau has appointed Giovanni Baldi as its new CEO, the company announced on Monday. Baldi, who previously held the position of president for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at luxury fashion label Dolce & Gabbana, brings with him over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry, including significant roles at Gucci.
Baldi succeeds Nicola Coropulis, who stepped down after an impressive 18-year tenure with Poltrona Frau, 10 of which he served as CEO. During this time, Coropulis led the company through a digital transformation, introducing innovations such as the digital product passport and collaborations with renowned designers.
New Leadership for a Transformative Era
Poltrona Frau, established in Turin in 1912, has built a reputation for its classic designs, such as the Vanity Fair and Archibald chairs. The company aims to leverage Baldi's luxury sector expertise to enhance its brand identity and international development. Dario Rinero, CEO of Poltrona Frau’s parent company, Haworth Lifestyle, emphasized Baldi’s strategic vision and operational excellence as key attributes that will guide the company in this new phase.
Focus on Global Relationships and Innovation
In his statement, Baldi highlighted the importance of strengthening ties with customers and partners while exploring new international opportunities. He aims to maintain the core values of Poltrona Frau while ensuring the brand remains relevant in a rapidly evolving market. As the company embarks on this journey, it continues to innovate, having recently joined the Aura Blockchain Consortium and pioneering the integration of digital art into furniture design.
