A man in his 50s is currently receiving medical treatment after a shark attack at Glenfield Beach, located north of Geraldton in Western Australia. The incident occurred on Monday morning, with authorities swiftly responding to the alarming situation.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) confirmed the attack, classifying it as a "shark incident". The report indicated that the attack was logged at approximately 9:45 AM. In response, fisheries officials have joined forces with local authorities to manage the situation effectively.
St John Ambulance reported that they dispatched two ambulances to the scene shortly after the incident was reported, at around 9:50 AM. The injured man was transported to Geraldton Hospital, where he is being treated under priority one conditions, highlighting the seriousness of his injuries.
