The 2026 Venice Film Festival has kicked off, bringing an array of glamour to its iconic red carpet. George and Amal Clooney made a grand entrance via water taxi, with George receiving a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement this week. At age 93, Ellen Burstyn will also be honored with the same award, appearing in two films, including Kornél Mundruczó’s Place to Be.
This year’s film lineup features several highly anticipated titles, such as Martin McDonagh’s Oscar-contending black comedy Wild Horse Nine and Robert Pattinson's portrayal of Chris Hansen in a new project. Florian Zeller’s marital drama, Bunker, will showcase both Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
As the festival unfolds, focus will also be on the fashion statements made by A-list attendees. Stars like Dakota Johnson, Pamela Anderson, and Claire Foy are expected to grace the carpet, following last year’s trendsetting moments from the likes of Lady Gaga and Zendaya.
