As the Emmy Awards approach, excitement builds for the early ceremonies that could see major wins for top nominees like "The Pitt," "Hacks," and "Pluribus." Taking place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, this weekend's events will hand out dozens of awards, setting the stage for the main ceremony next week.
The 78th Emmy Awards have rebranded their traditional Creative Arts Emmys, now splitting the festivities into two nights. While most awards this weekend will honor behind-the-scenes achievements, the spotlight will also shine on notable performances in guest acting categories. The ceremonies will air on FXX on September 12, with streaming available on Hulu, while the live primetime event on September 14 will feature Mariska Hargitay as host, broadcasting on NBC and Peacock.
Leading the nominations, HBO Max's "The Pitt" received a total of 25 nods, including a bid for best drama after its acclaimed first season. It could potentially win up to nine awards on Sunday. "Hacks," also from HBO Max, garnered 24 nominations and is in the running for 12 wins during this early ceremony. Additionally, the awards will honor posthumous nominations, including one for Rob Reiner, who earned a nod for his guest role in "The Bear." Michael J. Fox is also nominated in the same category, making for a star-studded competition.
