A 5.3 magnitude earthquake rocked Tibet on September 8, 2026, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The quake struck at a depth of 35 kilometers (approximately 21.75 miles), though details regarding any damage remain scarce.

In a related seismic event, a similar 5.3 magnitude tremor was reported in the Mustang district of northwest Nepal on the same day. The earthquake's epicenter was located in Lomanthang, about 375 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu, as per the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre.

Residents in neighboring districts, including Manang, Dolp, and Myagdi, also felt the effects of the tremor. Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage resulting from either earthquake.
