US Drone Strikes Allegedly Hit Iranian Wedding, Causing Casualties

By Editor • September 2, 2026 • 1 min read

On September 1, a series of missile and drone strikes by the United States reportedly targeted a wedding in Kuhestak, a town in southern Iran, resulting in at least five fatalities, including a young boy. The strikes, which occurred around 9:30 PM local time, have drawn heavy criticism and raised serious questions about the US military's operational protocols.

Amateur footage from the scene reveals widespread destruction, with the wedding venue's roof entirely collapsed and debris scattered extensively. The Iranian Red Crescent reported that 68 individuals were injured in addition to the five confirmed dead. Among the injured were children, as depicted in videos from a nearby hospital in Minab.

Local resident Motahereh7, who has a significant Instagram following, confirmed her presence at the wedding during the attack, expressing disbelief over the strike's accuracy and condemning the lack of military presence near the civilian site. "There’s absolutely no military infrastructure near that house. Nothing…" she stated in a video following the incident.

CCTV footage captured multiple explosions, with the intended target identified as a communications tower situated just 30 meters from residential buildings. However, investigations indicated that the wedding venue was hit directly, more than 135 meters from the communications tower.

Experts suggest that debris recovered from the impact site may belong to a SLAM-ER cruise missile, known for its precision. However, it remains unverified if this debris was linked to the wedding site or the tower.

The incident has sparked outrage among Iranian officials, with parliament speaker Bagher Ghalibaf condemning the US as "Satan." In response, a spokesperson for the US Central Command acknowledged reports of civilian casualties, emphasizing that the US military does not intentionally target civilians.
