At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Wokyis introduced the i5, a unique hub that marries modern technology with a nostalgic design reminiscent of early Macintosh computers. This device stands out with its warm, off-white plastic shell, setting it apart from the typical cold metal accessories dominating today's market.
The i5 is designed not just for aesthetics but also for practical use. It transforms into a secondary display for laptops, featuring a 5-inch, 1280×720 IPS screen that mirrors or extends desktops without touch input, minimizing smudges and accidental taps. Instead, users can dedicate this screen to various tasks such as music playback or messaging while keeping their main display uncluttered.
Thoughtful Design and Engaging Controls
Wokyis has paid homage to the original Macintosh with the i5's tilted head and boxy base, creating a friendly appearance rather than a sterile tech gadget. The control deck below showcases four mechanical keys for essential functions like copy, paste, and screenshot, offering satisfying tactile feedback. A central red knob serves a dual purpose for play/pause and volume control, enhancing user interaction.
Robust Connectivity Options
Beyond its charming design, the i5 proves its worth with robust connectivity features, including an M.2 NVMe slot supporting up to 8TB, multiple USB ports, simultaneous SD and microSD readers, a 3.5mm audio jack, and HDMI-in capabilities. The upcoming 80Gbps Thunderbolt 5 version promises even greater performance, though pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
