Seminison has criticized the White Home as a result of it used their profitable music since 1998, “closing time”, in a deportation video shared by the Trump administration. The video presents scenes of deportations accompanied by the lyrics of the music, which the band considers to be misinterpreted and wrongly aligned with the unique themes of the piece of hope and new beginnings. Signisonic mentioned that using their music was unauthorized, arousing debates on the ethics of music for political functions, with out the settlement of the artists. This controversy highlights the broader drawback of artists who oppose using their work in political contexts that battle with their values.
