Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gillani has announced a swift plan to restore internet services in educational institutions and lift travel restrictions with Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking at the Central Press Club, Gillani reassured students and the business community that these issues would be resolved within days.

Highlighting the disruptions caused by the recent internet shutdown and protests, Gillani emphasized the government’s commitment to support affected businesses, particularly in Mirpur. He stated, “We will try to restore business activity and help recover the losses.”

The prime minister expressed deep concern about the educational setbacks faced by children in the region, affirming that restoring internet access for schools was a top priority. “I will make every effort to have internet services restored in educational institutions within the next few days,” he promised.

In his address, Gillani also touched upon the political landscape, noting the impact of newly elected young PML-N legislators and expressing confidence in his team’s capability to foster development in AJK. He credited former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for significantly increasing the region’s development budget, stating that this decision has led to visible improvements.

Additionally, Gillani lauded the establishment of Danish schools in AJK districts, a project initiated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, which he praised as a sign of the PML-N leadership's dedication to the region.

Before concluding his visit, Gillani inspected the new green electric buses provided by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, expressing gratitude for their timely delivery. He reiterated the PML-N government's commitment to enhancing public welfare and addressing the needs of the AJK populace. Following his engagements, Gillani departed for Lahore for a meeting with party leaders.
