Alfie Whiteman's Journey from Goalkeeper to Filmmaker Celebrates Spurs Community

Alfie Whiteman, a former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, has transitioned from sports to storytelling with his debut film, "Tottenham Til I Die." This short film honors the vibrant community of N17, showcasing the everyday heroes like matchday stewards, local barbers, and even the 93-year-old season ticket holder, Alan Baldwin.

Whiteman, who spent 15 years at Spurs after joining at just 10 years old, retired in 2025 to pursue photography. His artistic talents have already garnered accolades, including a Silver at the Cannes Lions Young Director Award for his documentary on toe wrestling. Now, he is using his lens to reflect the heart of Tottenham.

Narrated by actor Himesh Patel, the film features contributions from Whiteman's father, Les, who composed the score, and appearances by notable fans like actress Taylor Russell and musician Dev Hynes. The project, created in collaboration with Blind Faith and Somesuch, stretches beyond local borders, capturing fans from New York to Tokyo. According to Tottenham’s CMO Adam Gardiner, this initiative is about giving back to the community that supports the club.
