Allegations Against Alan Jones: Former Colleague Testifies at Trial

In the ongoing trial of veteran broadcaster Alan Jones, Jason Morrison, a former colleague, has testified about a controversial lunch held in 2008 where allegations of indecent assault surfaced.

Morrison, who has known Jones for over 25 years, stated that during the lunch, he did not observe any inappropriate behavior from Jones towards a junior colleague, referred to as Complainant C. He described Complainant C's demeanor as "nothing that worried me," despite the serious nature of the allegations against Jones, who has pleaded not guilty to 22 counts of indecent assault involving six men.

Complainant C claims that during the lunch, Jones touched him inappropriately under the table. He recounted feelings of embarrassment when other attendees suggested he was being inappropriately handled by Jones. Eyewitness accounts from other lunch guests varied, with one noting the apparent discomfort of Complainant C and another remarking that he and Morrison appeared "startled" while Jones engaged with them.

Morrison recalled the atmosphere at the table, where lighthearted banter about Complainant C sitting away from his friends took place, with comments such as they looked like a "great couple." He also mentioned seeing Jones with his arm around Complainant C while conversing with others, suggesting it was a casual gesture.

The trial continues as Complainant C has detailed multiple incidents of alleged indecent assaults by Jones, claiming inappropriate conduct occurred in various locations, including lifts and vehicles.
