Bringing Back the Joy of Baseball Scorekeeping in Philadelphia

For many, the love of baseball runs deep, but a unique passion for scorekeeping is a special art. I have embraced this hobby, finding solace in the rhythm of recording every play, akin to cherished activities like knitting.
Inspired by my friend Dana Murphy, who I taught to score, we now share the experience at games, each capturing the action in our own styles. Our enthusiasm resonates with others, particularly older fans who fondly recall scoring alongside family.
Driven by this shared love, I decided to host a scorekeeping class in Philadelphia. After creating promotional materials and sharing them on social media, I faced some uncertainty, especially when explaining the concept to Julia Golda Harris of Val's Lesbian Bar. Despite her initial confusion, Julia agreed to host the event, hoping to attract at least 15 attendees.
