Christian Siriano Infuses Color and Character into His Paris Retreat

Christian Siriano, renowned for his vibrant fashion designs, has made a stunning mark on a historic Paris apartment, reflecting his love for the city. The designer, who has been drawn to Paris since 2009, finally decided to plant roots in the fashion capital by purchasing a Right Bank pied-à-terre with his partner, menswear designer Kyle Smith. “It was time to get a place of our own,” he shared.

After exploring around 15 properties, Siriano found his dream home nestled in a historic building in the eighth arrondissement. He preserved the apartment’s original features, including its remarkable parquet de Versailles floors and vintage fireplaces, bringing a sense of history into the modern design. “The molding is practically older than America,” he chuckled.

The apartment bursts with color, featuring a lilac entryway, a mint-hued dining room, and a living area painted in Benjamin Moore’s Gray Owl. Siriano’s love for textiles, inspired by his mother’s crafting, plays a significant role in the home’s aesthetic, showcasing a mix of textures and vibrant abstract paintings throughout.

Decorated with treasures sourced from second-hand shops, including French and Italian pieces from the 1930s to the 1960s, the designer's eclectic taste is evident. “Pretty much every single thing in the apartment is vintage,” he proudly stated, a first for him in a project.

Siriano enjoys the simple pleasures of Parisian life, strolling to local markets for fresh flowers and produce, and soaking in the serene ambiance of his apartment. This space doubles as a gathering spot for friends like model Coco Rocha and serves as a showcase for Siriano’s new collections. Whether hosting lively cocktail parties or enjoying quiet evenings with candles lit, he relishes the enchanting atmosphere of his Parisian sanctuary, calling it “such a beautiful way of life.”
