In a thrilling display of skill, Brandon Nakashima stunned sixth seed Taylor Fritz, securing his place in the semifinals of the ATP-WTA Cincinnati Masters with a score of 7-6 (11/9), 4-6, 6-3. This victory adds to Nakashima's impressive summer run, which includes a semifinal appearance in Washington and a final at the Montreal Masters.

Nakashima faced a challenge against Fritz’s powerful serve, enduring 22 aces and capitalizing on Fritz's 31 unforced errors. Despite trailing in the final set, Nakashima rallied to break back, ultimately sealing his victory with a decisive forehand winner. “I’ve gotten a lot of confidence over the summer,” he remarked, proud of his performance.

Meanwhile, unseeded Sara Bejlek also made headlines by defeating Madison Keys 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7/5) after her remarkable victory over world number one Aryna Sabalenka. The 20-year-old Czech overcame a slow start, coming back from a break down in the third set to secure her semifinal spot against fourth-seeded Coco Gauff, who dominated 10th seed Marta Kostyuk 6-2, 6-2.

Gauff lauded Bejlek’s talent, noting her impressive athleticism and speed on the court. As the Cincinnati tournament heats up, all eyes will be on the upcoming matches, featuring an all-American showdown between Nakashima and Frances Tiafoe, who defeated Lorenzo Musetti.
