Dior Beauty Unveils Animated Film Celebrating Miss Dior's Legacy

Christian Dior's iconic fragrance, Miss Dior, first launched in 1947, pays tribute to his sister Catherine, a French Resistance fighter and floral enthusiast. The original scent, a daring chypre-floral blend, was both bold and unconventional, mirroring Catherine's resilience.
The latest iteration, Miss Dior Eau de Parfum, presents a softer, more feminine profile, rich with rose and hints of vanilla and almond, embodying Catherine’s love for her garden.
To honor this legacy, acclaimed French illustrator Ugo Bienvenu led the creation of a vibrant animated film. Focusing on three themes—Catherine's inspiration, the fragrance's debut at Dior’s 'New Look' show, and its contemporary relevance—the team crafted a storyboard and animation that captures the essence of Miss Dior.
Bienvenu emphasized the film's joyful and technicolor celebration of the brand's history, enriched by meticulous hand-painted backgrounds. This innovative visual approach marks a first for Dior, blending tradition with a youthful, romantic spirit. 'We aimed for a campaign that is dynamic and light-hearted, while respecting the fragrance's deep-rooted history,' said Bienvenu. The film, steeped in historical references, will delight both loyal fans and newcomers alike.
