Japanese Airlines Collaborate on Flight Schedules to Reduce Overlap

In a significant development, Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) are set to synchronize their flight schedules for the first time. This collaboration targets the domestic route between Tokyo's Haneda Airport and Okayama Airport, beginning in late October.
The decision comes amidst heightened competition and rising operational costs. Previously, both airlines operated independently due to concerns over antitrust regulations. However, a recent transport ministry report indicated that coordinated scheduling could be permissible under certain conditions.
