Dolly Parton, the country music icon who passed away on August 25, has left behind an enduring legacy, not just in music but also in fashion. Her penchant for eye-catching, high-heeled platform shoes has been a hallmark of her style, captivating fans and designers alike.

Since 1975, Footwear News has chronicled Parton's unique Western fashion sense, revealing her impressive collection of over 2,000 bespoke shoes. Notably, in 1999, the magazine featured Grisha's Custom Shoes, renowned for crafting exclusive pairs for the likes of Cher and Janet Jackson, which included a staggering 900 pairs specifically for Parton.

In 2000, designer Pasquale Di Fabrizio also made headlines for creating more than 400 custom shoes tailored to match Parton's outfits, with each pair reportedly worn only once. Parton's fashion philosophy was encapsulated in her famous quote, "It takes a lot of money to look this cheap," reflecting her commitment to style and craftsmanship.
