Durston's X-Dome Pro 1+: The Ultralight Tent for Extreme Conditions

Weighing in at an astonishing 780 grams, the Durston X-Dome Pro 1+ is setting new standards for ultralight tents. This fully freestanding, double-wall shelter boasts robust features, including a 42-inch peak height and a 9.2-square-foot vestibule, designed to withstand winds exceeding 100 km/h.

The innovative design utilizes Dyneema Composite Fabrics (DCF), significantly reducing weight while enhancing durability. With a fly made from DCF 0.55 and a floor of DCF 0.67, the tent’s fabric is roughly half the weight of traditional materials. Bonded seams provide added strength and waterproofing without bulk.

Equipped with Easton’s refined carbon pole system, the tent integrates trekking poles for improved stability against lateral winds. Its generous floor area of 23.5 square feet accommodates taller hikers and two narrow sleeping pads comfortably. The tent packs down to just 19 by 4.5 inches, making it easy to carry.

Priced between $849 and $879, the X-Dome Pro 1+ sold out rapidly upon release, with a larger fall shipment planned for those eager to experience its unique advantages.
