PTI Challenges Government's Authority on Governance Reforms

Salman Akram Raja, Secretary General of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserted on Monday that the current 'Form 47' government lacks the authority to modify the nation's governance framework. He emphasized the party's openness to alliances with anyone sharing this viewpoint.

In an appearance on Geo News' 'Capital Talk', Raja expressed concerns over the country's recent trajectory, stating that the past four years have yielded disappointing results for Pakistan. He warned against any fundamental changes to the federal structure, labeling such discussions as "hazardous" and reiterating that the current assembly does not possess a mandate for significant reforms.

Raja also welcomed any political party that supports PTI's principles regarding judicial independence and governance integrity. With a long march planned for September 27, he indicated that PTI would not hinder other parties from joining, provided they align with the march's objectives. Meanwhile, the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) leader has been coordinating with various opposition figures to forge a united front against the government.
