PTI Resubmits Contempt Petition for Imran Khan's Hospital Transfer

In a significant legal maneuver, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has resubmitted a contempt of court petition to the Supreme Court regarding the transfer of Imran Khan to a private hospital. This move follows the court's previous objections to the initial filing, which was returned earlier this week.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed that the Supreme Court registrar cited a lack of specific charge details against the respondents as a reason for returning the petition. The resubmission aims to address these concerns.

The original petition, filed by Imran Khan’s sister Uzma, alleges that authorities violated the Supreme Court's August 18 order mandating the former Prime Minister's transfer to Shifa International Hospital. Instead, he was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and subsequently returned to prison.

Uzma's petition names several officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accusing them of willfully disobeying the court's directive. Concurrently, the Islamabad Chief Commissioner has sought an expedited review of the August order's legality.
