Diplomatic Efforts Intensify in Tehran Amid US-Iran Conflict

High-level discussions in Tehran have reportedly made notable strides towards resolving the ongoing US-Israel conflict surrounding Iran. This diplomatic mission, led by Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, occurred on Monday and was confirmed by the Pakistani military on Tuesday.

The military described the visit as a crucial step in addressing the US-Iran impasse and a chance to foster lasting peace in the region. During the visit, Munir engaged with key Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, focusing on de-escalation tactics and the reopening of the vital Strait of Hormuz.

Naqvi later expressed optimism on social media, highlighting that constructive discussions were held regarding the restoration of the “Islamabad MoU,” an agreement previously intended to halt hostilities. However, Iranian media reported that Pezeshkian emphasized the need for the US to reconsider its approach towards Iran to facilitate progress.
