The architects, led by Brian MacKay-Lyons and Talbot Sweetapple, drew inspiration from the simplicity of traditional fishing shacks, crafting a living space that harmonizes with its surroundings. Elevated on a slender steel structure, the home features a back-set entrance deck that gracefully welcomes visitors.

Inside, the layout is straightforward yet functional, with bedrooms and a bathroom on the lower level, and an expansive kitchen, dining, and living area above. The upper floor boasts a 'great room' adorned with generous windows that invite natural light and showcase views of Romkey Pond and Hartling Bay. Exposed roof joists and steel ties complement the warm timber interiors, while granite slabs enhance both the hearth and dining space.

Externally, Skybox is sheathed in practical corrugated metal, designed to withstand the regional climate while maintaining affordability. The architects emphasize their commitment to 'village-making,' aiming for the home to be a considerate addition to the community through its design and scale.
