A Moscow court has placed the son of Anna Kameneva, an associate professor at Moscow State University, in pretrial detention on murder charges. This decision follows the shocking discovery of Kameneva's body on August 26, found with a severe neck wound at her home in Zhukovka, a village near Moscow.
Authorities also uncovered shell casings and a rubber bullet firearm at the scene. Reports suggest that a close friend of the suspect, an 18-year-old who fled after the incident, may be involved. Speculation about the motive hints at potential financial disputes within the family.
Kameneva had been a part of the university’s Higher School of State Audit since 2011 and was married to Gadzhi Makhachev, a former deputy prime minister of Dagestan, who tragically passed away in a car accident in 2013.
