Syn Architects Redefines Saudi Heritage with Project Orion

Recognized in the Wallpaper* Architects’ Directory 2026, Syn Architects is making waves in the realm of contemporary design in Saudi Arabia. Founded in 2018 by innovative architects Sara Alissa and Nojoud Alsudairi, the firm emphasizes ecologically sensitive designs that resonate with their environment.

Located in Alkhozama, Riyadh, their latest endeavor, Project Orion, consists of three villas that harmoniously blend modern architecture with traditional Najdi influences. Drawing inspiration from the region's historic mudbrick homes and tamarisk wood, the project showcases an elegant balance of privacy and openness, allowing residents to enjoy both seclusion and the beauty of outdoor living.

The villas feature three distinct volumes strategically placed to maximize natural light while ensuring selective views. With a limestone facade that evokes a fortress-like presence, Project Orion seamlessly integrates into its landscape, reflecting the architects' commitment to creating spaces that feel both rooted and timeless.

Alissa and Alsudairi aim to foster environments that are inclusive and accessible, promoting social interaction among diverse communities.
